We love everything that has to do with love. What better way to start today with a love story of a beautiful wedding that took place in St Lucia. This we are falling in love in St Lucia with Curlea. Before we get started, we want you to give our Facebook page a quick like and be sure to follow us on Instagram for some amazing inspiration.
Why did you choose St. Lucia as your destination for your wedding?
St. Lucia has always been a destination island that I dreamt of visiting. So when my now husband proposed to me, I could not think of anywhere else I would have wanted to say “I do”. The main reason we chose the island was for its beautiful weather, its luscious beaches, and amazing scenery. This little island was nothing like I expected. It gave me so much more than I could imagine. As we flew down into the island, I could see the lush green forestry and the clear blue waters. I was so excited; I could barely contain myself.
What was the venue at which your wedding reception was held?
Our Reception was held at a villa called Casa Del Vega. It is situated near the George F.L Charles airport, closer to the capital of Saint Lucia which is Castries. The view from this villa was breathtaking. Waking up to the view of the beach, the breeze of the ocean, the clean fresh air was amazing. Also, there was a private beach just five minutes away from the hotel where my husband and I took many walks. It was just heaven on earth. Merlin who is the owner of the villa was extremely friendly and helpful. She made everything so easy. My wedding was absolutely amazing because she made sure everything fell right into place. Merlin and her staff allowed me and my bridal party to focus on other things like our hair and makeup whiles they took care of the décor.
Was it easy to find a photographer at a reasonable price and were they easy to find?
At first, it was a little difficult, but with some help from the locals, we found not only a tour guide but also a photographer. Mr. Hans Mathurin took some of the most beautiful photos I have ever seen. The photo displayed within the post should speak for itself. Mr. Mathurin brought us to Married Women’s Quarters at Vigie which was absolutely beautiful. The scenery to was to die for. The bonus, it was only 5 minutes away from the reception area.
How was the weather on the day of your wedding?
The weather couldn’t be more perfect, it was nice with a cool sea breeze. The temperature was somewhere in the early 80’s. The weather in Saint Lucia is typically between 80 to 88 degrees Fahrenheit all year long. If you love the warm tropical beautiful weather, Saint Lucia is the island for you.
Where was your honeymoon spent?
Our honeymoon was spent at The Body Holiday Le Sports Saint Lucia which is located to the north of the island. We had so much fun, the massages were heavenly, the water tubing was terrifying at first but my husband and I enjoyed every minute of it. The food along with a variety of drinks was absolutely amazing. The scenery at the hotel was to die for. The staff was extremely polite and helpful. My husband and I missed our appointment for our massage and the staff was nice enough to change it to a later time since there was an available time slot. We also visited the Sulphur Springs where we enjoyed a hot Sulphur bath in the Sulphur pool. Additionally, we visited many waterfalls including the Toraille Waterfalls and Piton Falls. Both of these waterfalls are located in the south of the island in Soufriere.
What is your best memory of your wedding in St. Lucia?
My best memory of Saint Lucia apart from my wedding was just how I felt right at home. The hospitality of the people, the warm weather, the scenery, and of course the beaches. Everything about this island made me not want to leave.
Would you recommend St. Lucia to your family and friends to get married or just visit, and why?
I would definitely recommend Saint Lucia to my family and friends. The food on the island always tasted so fresh and delicious, the locals of the island are very vibrant, and helpful and the scenery is to die for. There is so much culture to learn on the island. Being a culture buff, I wish I had more time to soak in so more of their amazing history. Saint Lucia has the only drive-in Volcano in the Caribbean, and although it may sound terrifying it is something I highly recommend visiting. I really enjoyed visiting St. Lucia and I will definitely be back. Hope this helps you St. Lucia travelers.
